ChromaLife100: long-lasting, beautiful photos
ChromaLife100 is a system that improves the beauty and permanence of printed images, realised with the combination of selected Canon inks and papers.
By printing on the IP90V with the ChromaLife100 system, your printed photos will resist colour fading for longer, so they can be shared and enjoyed across generations.
The world is a harsh environment for photosLight, heat, humidity and gases in the air can all cause photos to fade over time, whether they are silver halide photos or inkjet photos.
Canon has developed ChromaLife100 to help inkjet photos withstand environmental conditions for longer.
ChromaLife100 with IP90V is a system in which photo paper, inks & print head work together to produce long-lasting, beautiful photo prints.
IP90V Print head: Speed & quality
All PIXMA printers use Canon’s exclusive FINE* print head.See the information on the Pixma IP90V for further information.Pixma IP90V
In a nutshell, microscopic nozzles fire off tiny micro-droplets with pinpoint accuracy. Smaller nozzles mean more of them can be packed onto the print head – to reach higher speeds with no compromise on quality.
Photo paper: Instant-dry
The FINE print head on the Pixma IP90V is so quick you need paper that can keep up with it.
Genuine Canon photo papers have a micro-porous coating that quickly absorbs ink deep below the surface – away from the gases and light that cause fading. So you get quick-dry, colourfast, glossy photos that can last a lifetime.
Inks: For rich, accurate colours
FINE micro-nozzles need exceptionally pure ink to avoid clogging. All genuine Canon inks are manufactured in a controlled, dust-free environment. They are specially formulated to resist the gases in the air that cause fading. High optical density ensures a wide and accurate colour gamut.
Up to 100 years in an album
The best way to keep your photos from fading is to store them in archival quality photo albums, not exposed to light and in a controlled temperature and humidity environment.
When printed with ChromaLife100 on the IP90V and stored in an album, your photos will last up to 100 years without fading.

What is PictBridge?
PictBridge is a worldwide Direct Print Standard developed by Canon, Fuji, HP, Olympus, Seiko/Epson and Sony. PictBridge allows digital cameras, camcorders and other image capture devices to connect and print directly to photo printers and other output devices - no PC is required.
Benefits of PictBridge Your Canon Pixma IP90V can connect any PictBridge compatible digital camera or camcorder to any PictBridge compatible printer regardless of the manufacturer and enjoy direct printing without the use of a computer. With no need for a PC and support for inter-brand connectivity, PictBridge ultimately means more choice for you the consumer.
Direct photo printing without a PC The PictBridge standard is independent of the physical connection and communication protocol. This has allowed vendors such as Canon to employ existing industry standard connections such as USB, which are widely used on cameras and printers. Once connected, photo selections and print instructions can be made from the camera's LCD and control buttons. Canon has PictBridge compliant products in the digital SLR, digital compact camera, digital camcorder and photo-printer line-ups and includes the IP90V.
Canon IP90V Functionality
To attain PictBridge certification, products must be capable of basic mandatory functions such as image selection, although the standard supports more sophisticated functions such as cropping, multiple prints, print paper size selection and printing with date stamp. Once connected, the PictBridge communication on the IP90V establishes which features are supported by both devices and the user is presented with these options only.
PictBridge supports vendor-to-vendor specific extensions of the standard. Where a camera of one brand is connected to a printer of the same brand, both devices are able to communicate in order to take advantage of vendor specific features. With Canon this may include features such as Vivid Photo and Photo Noise Reduction.
